Hieratic was the everyday script of literate Egyptians. It was their form of cursive handwriting. This App is the first set of Flash Cards for learning ancient Egyptian Hieratic writing!
It contains a set of over 200 hieratic characters, with versions from three different era of history: Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom and the New Kingdom!  Included characters are all the alphabetic glyphs as well as the most common biliterals and triliterals (double and triple consonants).
For all who enjoys Ancient Egypt: Students, Enthusiasts, and Professionals!
Hieratic is very challenging to learn and while this App is not, by any means a complete reference, it does offer a painless introduction!
The App has three sets of flash cards:
  • Match a Hieratic to a Hieroglyph
  • Match a Hieratic to a phonetic sound
  • Match a Hieroglyph to a Hieratic
An “Evolution” view shows how common Egyptian hieratic characters evolved over the millennia.
The App also has several samples of well known historic  Egyptian hieratic papyri to study.
Designed for off-line use, no internet required!
Glyph data based on Georg Möller’s “HieratischePaläographie” and Joshua Aaron Roberson’s “A Very Brief Introduction to Hieratic”
Coming to the Apple App Store very soon!
